Paper Accept & Send service

Once you’ve completed your paper application, we’ll send it off for you.

How Paper Accept & Send works

With our Passport Paper Accept & Send service, we’ll help you get your application sent off smoothly. For just £11 plus your passport fee, we’ll accept and send your Irish passport application for you.

  1. Complete the form

    Complete a passport application form APS2. You can pick one up in around 100 of our branches

  2. Take your photo

    You'll need four identical photos that meet the DFA requirements listed on the back of the application form

  3. Visit a participating Post Office branch

    Bring your application form, photos and any other supporting documents to one of our selected branches

  4. We’ll send it off

    We'll send everything to the DFA Passport Office. If approved, you'll get your passport in the post

What you need:

  • Your current passport (not a photocopy) if it's a renewal application

  • Proof of any changes, such as to your name (see 'common questions' for more details)

  • A witness to sign your application and photos

When will you need a witness?

For any Irish passport APS2 application, you’ll need a witness to confirm your identity by signing your form and two of your four passport photos.

This person may be contacted to confirm the validity of their signature. Please check they’re happy to be contacted before you start the application. Read further guidance on application witnesses.

Tips for filling out your application form

Getting it right first time

  • Use a black ballpoint pen and write in capitals
  • Bring originals of your supporting documents and not photocopies. Also, don't forget your four photos (two of them signed)
  • Stay within the white boxes and keep your signature within the border

      • The Paper Accept & Send service cost £11.00 with Post Office. This fee is on top of what you have to pay the DFA for your passport and includes a delivery fee to send your documents to the DFA.
