Making an Amazon return with us

Loads of Amazon orders come with free returns. But they’re not all the same. You can return most Amazon orders at your local Post Office branch, and here’s how

Log into your Amazon account

  1. Log into Amazon and go to Your Orders. To return a gift, see Return a Gift
  2. Find the item you want to return and select Return or Replace Items
  3. Let them know why you’re returning the item. If the item wasn’t sold by Amazon, you might need to request the return and wait for approval
  4. Select Royal Mail Drop Off (print in store) or Order Drop Off (printer required)
  5. You’ll either get a QR code sent to your phone or a returns label to print out

Label free, box free returns

  • Some Post Office branches now offer a label free, box free returns service with Amazon. This service allows you to return items without needing to print a label or even package the item
  • Simply select the order you want to return on Amazon.co.uk and view available return locations local to you. Then you’ll be sent a QR code to bring with the item to the drop-off location
  • The QR code will be scanned in-branch, then a member of our staff will pop the item into a bag and label it up for you

Additional information:

  • Currently over 6000 Post Office branches offer this returns service
  • Available on returns of maximum weight per item of 5kg and maximum dimensions of 45cm x 34cm x 26cm
  • There is a maximum £500 value limit for all LFBF returns
  • Customers will not be offered this service on Amazon if their item does not fall within these specifications

Packaging and posting

  1. Pack your items and print your returns label if you need to. Tip: each return label is assigned to a specific return. To make sure that you receive the correct refund, don't include items from multiple orders or shipments in the same box
  2. Bring your package with your label or QR code to your local Post Office branch, and we’ll take it from there
  3. Take everything into branch, drop off your package, we’ll give you a proof of posting with tracking details, and you’re done

Track your Amazon return

  1. You can check the progress of your Amazon return in Your Orders or Track & Trace
  2. Should you have any questions about your return, just go to the help section in your account
  3. Visit Amazon's Returns page for more and up to date information

Common Amazon returns questions

  • If you don’t have the original product packaging, use a sturdy box and include padding such as bubble wrap or newspaper, then bring it to your local Post Office with the returns label or QR code.

  • Amazon, and many other sellers on Amazon, offer returns for most items within 30 days of receipt of delivery. But check with Amazon as there may be different criteria for returning items depending on the category. Visit Amazon's Returns page for more information.

  • Just pop into your local branch and chat with us. We’ll be more than happy to help. You can also visit Amazon's Returns page for more and up to date information.
