Steps to help you prepare
Here are four key things you can do to save time in branch
-
Make sure your item’s safe to send
Pack items at home securely
Don't wait until you're in a busy branch to pack items. Do it in the comfort of your home. Follow our guide to packing items securely. Read our tips on addressing items clearly and correctly.
Fill out your customs forms online
If you send items abroad, you must fill in a customs form. If you use Parcels Online services with Royal Mail, Evri or DPD, you’ll fill in the forms during the booking process. Royal Mail now requires customs forms to be completed online. You can pick up a Parcelforce Worldwide customs form in branch. We'll ask customs questions in branch if you're using Evri to send overseas. You can avoid your item being delayed by filling in your customs forms correctly.
Choose the right sending service for you
There are different ways to send your mail. You can choose when you want your package to arrive, how much you want to cover it for loss or damage, and do you want a signature on delivery or full tracking.
If you choose a Royal Mail, Evri or DPD service through Parcels Online, you'll go through all the options before buying your postage.
If you're planning to buy your postage in branch, please research the services available from Royal Mail, Parcelforce Worldwide, Evri and DPD before you pop in. Or you can ask our team for help when you do.

Skip the queue with self-service kiosks
Some branches have self-service kiosks where you can post cards and parcels to the UK with standard, signed-for and next-day services, return items and buy stamps to take away. To find a branch with a kiosk, tick the ‘Post & Go self-serve’ option in our branch finder.
-

Drop & Go could save you time and effort if you post items regularly. Our free, same-day service allows you to simply drop off your parcels in branch, and we'll sort out the postage. Perfect for online sellers, small businesses, or anyone regularly sending lots of parcels.
